Bell’s newest innovations to the off-road earthmoving market are two models of tracked carriers, the TC7A, and the TC11A. Bell’s tracked carriers are uniquely designed to go where other equipment cannot. These tracked carriers are ideal for pipeline contractors, utility contractors, land developers, and others who have jobs where access is difficult because of steep grades or soft ground conditions. Fully loaded, these tracked carriers are designed for steep grades of up 26 degrees on the TC7A, and as much as 29 degrees on the larger TC11A. The undercarriage is supported by a tracked drivetrain, similar to a tank. Bell’s tracked suspension design is unique from the rest of the competitors in this market for several reasons.
According to Brad Castle, with Bell Equipment North America, “We’ve gone along with a suspension, the walking beam, which we have many years of experience on. We’ve incorporated that into the suspension of the undercarriage, so you’ll see a very unique, Bell differentiating, six-roller system. That improves operator comfort. The machine follows the terrain like a tank would, and gives the rollers a better chance of being in contact with the track as often as possible.”
TWO MODELS AVAILABLE
The two model configurations available are both powered by premium components, like Cummins engines, Rexroth pumps, and Rexroth drive motors. The smaller TC7A is powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine with 225 horsepower and has a standard payload capacity of 4.6 cubic yards or about 15,500 pounds. The larger TC11A is also powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine, but with 249 HP, and it can be equipped with a 6.9 cubic yard dump bed with 24,400 pounds of payload capacity.
DESIGNED AROUND THE OPERATOR
Bell designed a purpose-built cab that provides easy cab access, maximum operator space, and ergonomic comfort. The cab is designed with a hanging step and an inset step with left and right handrails, for optimal three-point access for the operator. Unique operator conveniences include a push-button start, 5-inch [CDU] color monitor, integrated back-up camera, electronically-controlled and heated right-side mirror, deluxe air-suspension operator’s seat, multi-function electric-over-hydraulic joystick control, cruise speed control, B-Drive for CDU & RPM control, AM/FM radio, A/C, and heat.
EASY TO MAINTAIN AND SERVICE
The undercarriage is designed for easy service and a long life. All rollers and the idlers are oil-immersed and sealed and the bogie walking beams are supported by conical rubber bearings, which never require grease or service. The radiator and coolers are located up and away from the ground, to protect them from mud and other ground debris. Additionally, the underside of the machine is equipped with bolt-on, split-panel belly guards that protect hoses and other critical components from damage. The drive sprockets are uniquely designed to be sectional, which makes changing the sprocket easier. Also, a service compartment that contains access to the diesel fuel fill inlet, DEF fill inlet, and ground-line accessible filters, is conveniently located behind the cab.
VERSATILE BIN OR DECK CONFIGURATIONS
On the smaller TC7A, Bell offers a combination bin, that can be used as a dump bed or a flat deck when sides are folded down and the tailgate is removed. The TC11A can be ordered with two distinct bed configurations, a dump bed or a flat deck.
