Meet Dion Taylor, shop tech and welder at our Columbia, South Carolina branch. Dion started out with no experience, seven years ago, as a parts runner and a yard tech. He then moved on to become a wash tech, and later he learned welding on the job.
Today Dion is an accomplished, skilled welder and a talented heavy equipment mechanic. He does most of the welding of thumbs and other fabrication jobs at the Columbia branch. “Now I’m a do-it-all shop tech kind of guy,” said Dion. “I love that I get to work around other experienced mechanics, that I can lean on, and they can teach me things and further me as a mechanic.”
“I love the growth of this company. There’s always opportunity to move here, move there, or move up. The company gave me an opportunity when they really didn’t have to. And they brought me in and let me just grow and blossom like a flower. The company is overall just fantastic.”Dion explained.
